Who inspired me to start a blog?

My very first blog post was about the girl behind this blog. I’ve shared some fun facts about myself and I also talked a bit about my blog. I think that’s one of the most important subjects to start with because I believe it’s essential to build a connection between you and your readers. In my second post, I’ve shared the story behind Eefie’s Beautiful Mess and I explained why I’ve started to blog in the first place, which is a good question to ask yourself as a blogger.

But that’s not what I wanted to talk about. Today, I’m going to share another story with you. I’m going to talk about the people who inspired me to become a lifestyle blogger, so grab a cup of tea and enjoy!

❤ Why did I became a lifestyle blogger?

When I created my first blog, I was really into makeup and things like that. My dream was to become one of those famous beauty gurus, as I’ve said before in my previous post. Back than, I shared makeup tutorials, I wrote about my favorite products and I even had a collaboration with e.l.f. for a short time! I wasn’t really convinced about their products though, but, hey, it was a big deal for me! I was super excited and I felt honored to test their makeup!

After a while, I got bored because I wrote about the same subjects over and over again. I wanted something new, so I decided to add some lifestyle topics; tags, personal favorites and stuff like that. I realized how much I actually liked writing about these subjects and during the years, it became my main focus, especially in my personal life. I’ve spent so much time creating my own happiness by doing what I really love and by pushing away all the negativity. I’ve changed a lot and I’m happy about that.

Life is an adventure, a journey and that’s why I want to share it with other people. We can learn so much from each other! Makeup is just a small part of my life. This doesn’t mean I won’t write about it now and then, but I also want to focus on other stuff, that’s why I became a lifestyle blogger instead of a beauty blogger.

❤ Who inspired me to create my blog?

Now that we’ve clarified these things, we can continue to the person who inspired me the most to start a blog! At the very beginning, when I was around the age of eleven, someone I knew had a blog of her own and, oh, my god, I was so jealous! I enjoyed reading her posts so much! It was something new, something I had never heard of before. She told me a thing or two about blogging and she actually encouraged me to give it a try one day.

I decided to give it a chance and before I really knew what I was doing, I created a blog of my own! I had so much fun! We shared ideas, inspiration, we talked about other bloggers,… Long story short: we had a great time! One day, she introduced me to Teske, a Dutch Youtuber/blogger and I immediately fell in love with her personality! I’ve watched almost every video on her channel, I was a huge fan and I still am, to be honest. She is an amazing person and she was my biggest source of inspiration when Eefie’s Lifestyle was still a thing.

But who inspired me to create Eefie’s Beautiful Mess? First of all, I got inspired on Pinterest when I searched for blog posts and useful tips about blogging, happiness and self-care. I wanted to improve myself as a blogger, I also wanted to start writing my posts in English and I wanted to change the name of my blog, something that described me in just a few, short words.

And I also got inspired by my own craziness, to be honest, but let’s skip that part, shall we?

I’m glad I finally created something I can be proud of, something personal, something of my own. My blog is my bae and no one can take her away from me! Okay, this is getting weird…

Anyway, this story has come to an end and I’m glad I was able to share this with you. It’s personal, but I hope it will motivate you to keep pushing forward! I want to thank you for passing by and don’t forget to follow this beautiful mess to stay on tune! Oh, and make sure to check out my community and my page on Instagram to share your support, that would make me a very happy girl!

Lots of love,
Eefie. ❤
